The editors of the journal invite submissions of original, unpublished manuscripts.
MIR is published two times a year. Submission of scholarly articles, comment pieces and book reviews is welcome. Contributions to the journal may be in English or Slovene. Authors submitting an article or review in English should provide a summary in Slovene; authors submitting an article or review in Slovene should provide a summary in English. MIR is a peer-reviewed journal. All submissions will be evaluated on substance and style. Authors are responsible for the correctness and the clarity of their submissions.
Deadline for the first spring-summer 2008 issue is April 1.
Book reviews should be of new or current publications in the area of English literature, linguistics, or language studies.
Format
Articles should be approximately 2,000 to 10,000 words in MLA format. Articles must contain footnotes and not endnotes. Authors are asked to provide an electronic version of their articles in Word format as an email attachment or on CD.
Articles submitted for publication should be accompanied by the author's name, mailing address, and email address. Figures, illustrations, and lengthy quotes must be accompanied by a letter of permission to reproduce from the copyright holder.
Single space
No extra spaces between paragraphs;
Indent the first line of each paragraph 5 spaces from the left margin; Indent quoted passages of more than three lines 10 spaces from the left margin; Use parenthetical references to quotations, not footnotes; Titles of books should be in italics; Titles of poems, short stories, essays, and chapters of books should be enclosed in double quotation marks; Quoted passages should be enclosed on double quotation marks; quotes within quotes should be enclosed in single quotation marks; Avoid using sections and section headings; Use “Works Cited”, not “Bibliography” or “References”; Items in the Works Cited must be listed in alphabetical order; use hanging indent format; do not use bullets or numbers; put the year of publication at the end of the citation, not after the author’s name; Please check spelling and grammar before sending your paper.
