About us

Words are powerful. “Words are very unnecessary, they can only do harm.” (Depeche Mode) However, they can also lead you to different worlds. Words give you the power of love, of life, of meaning. They wait for you in books, patiently, timelessly. You just need to take your time and slowly search for them. Just take a journey to the world of words. And when you reach them, it can be the highest peak of your existence. We, the postgraduate students of English and American literature, are trying to find their meanings in literature, to light our way of existence, to broaden our minds, to reach the unknown, to experience the divine. Join us on our way to the mysterious and beautiful world of words!

In my free time I like to go swimming, hicking, play volleyball and tennis. I also like travelling.
Spare time? Well, if any, I spend it on reading books and writing papers for my MA:)

Nika Plevnik

Nika

A simple girl with multiple interests that had to challenge herself as a postgraduate of English and American studies. Just tries being lighter about life each and every day and watch herself growing into a daredevil optimist. She is just plain contrary to overly serious people and daring to be silly at times. In love with life and personal experience every once in a while vanishes for a month or so to recharge her batteries in distant lands.

Teo Pucko

A shy boy who doesn’t like to speak too much, but rather listens. Graduated in Northern Mythology and The Lord of the Rings. Still very interested in LOTR and other fantasy and science fiction.
Besides enjoying reading books I also like watching movies, especially sci-fi, fantasy and thrillers. Furthermore, I also spend time caring for my pets and bonsai trees. I am currently teaching at the primary school OŠ Prežihovega Voranca Bistrica.

Margit Berlič Ferlinc

Margit

I live my life as a “hobby program”. I go to bed late at night or early in the morning (it depends how you see it :-)), I adore music and going to the concerts, watching movies is the one and only relationship that never leaves you unsatisfied if you explore long enough :-). My biggest wish is to be an eye of the Hubble telescope and therefore live in a sci-fi reality show. Black holes and revelations, here I come :-). What is hidden and lies behind, it is there for me to feel, taste, and experience. Are there other dimensions, are there angels to guard us, and energies that can lead you to unspoken, unheard, unseen?

Marjetka Pfajfar

Marjetka

In addition to literature and languages I love many things. I love music, especially if I sing it accompanied by a piano. I love changing houses and their characters. In my opinion houses can strongly affect us and very simple changes can result in great improvements. In the past few years I have spent my springs and autumns gardening, then summers observing and winters planning my new creations. I spend a lot of my time trying for a healthy and eco-friendly living and it truly makes me happy to see everyday things in a completely new and surprising way.

Barbara Pristovnik

Barbara

I'm a teacher of English and Slovene and a post graduate student of English and American literature. I constantly try to find meaning and joy in little things. I like literature, music and whatever makes me feel good.

Borut Jurišić

Born: at least once already
"But Holmes, what school did he finish?" - "Elementary my dear Watson, elementary... and then some."
Currently working on: more pleasureble things in life that real gentlemen never talk about (other then between the lines).
And what about the serious things?
-Computerised story-telling. Can the computer be a new medum that might carry art, or is it just a tool that's capable of replacing various other media (e.g. a device to reproduce music, a canvas to watch paintings on, a screen to read literature, etc.)
